With rental of The Allan House comes with use of both the indoor and outdoor space with it’s lovely parlors, wide verandas, and idyllic courtyard. In addition you’ll have up lighting in the trees and elegant lighting throughout the courtyards and ground, along with a covered nook for the DJ or band with up lighting. The rental also includes one hundred and fifty white folding chairs, nineteen sixty inch rounds, ten bistro tables, forty bistro chairs, one forty-eight inch cake table, and six six foot tables.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens offers facility rentals to help defray the costs of operating and maintaining this historic property. To welcome those who wish to have a more modest marriage, commitment, or other ceremony at Vizcaya, we offer Daytime Garden Ceremonies.

Daytime garden ceremonies may take place in the gardens during the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There is no access to the Main House for the bride, groom, bridal party or guests. Photographers are permitted to accompany the group. Chairs may not be placed on the property for the garden ceremony. We regret that we cannot allow wedding canopies, or runners for the daytime garden ceremony. Only hand-held chupahs may be used. Food and beverages are not permitted during garden ceremonies. If you wish to have music at your event, we invite you to arrange for one hand-held instrument. Daytime garden ceremony clients are welcome to have a simple reception at the Vizcaya Café and Shop, drawing from our regular menu. Whether it’s a corporate event, a wedding or commitment ceremony, or another special occasion, Miami’s historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens provides an impressive location. Vizcaya is available for rent during the evening hours and guests have the exclusive use of the inner courtyard, outside terraces, and gardens. Private events cannot be held during the day as Vizcaya operates as a public museum throughout the year.

The Bristol Room is a 1,240-square-foot banquet-ready reception space for 120 guests, decorated with luminous blue carpeting and boldly flocked black and white wallpaper; the Dorset Room offers a sunlit space accommodating up to 30 people for dining, receptions and lectures.

For a secluded dinner or private film screening, The Library is a cozy spot with its own plasma screen. Viceroy’s poolside cabanas, draped in sailcloth and appointed with plush banquettes, define al fresco chic. With room for up to 25 guests, these luxurious cabanas are perfect for poolside lounging or Santa Monica candlelit receptions.

Maxwell’s – This 1,500-square foot-room has its own outdoor patio (with tables and garden) and large windows looking out into the mountains and lush hills of Stowe. Seats 120 banquet-style, and 175 for a reception.

National/Sterling – These banquet rooms can be used separately or attached for a larger 1,296-square-foot space. Accommodates 90 banquet-style, and 200 for a reception.

Notch Room – Intimate 400 square-foot space with couch, fireplace and flat-screen TV. Suitable for a reception of 50 people.

Green Mountain Room/Ballroom – Set apart from the other banquet rooms, this 2,951-foot ballroom is spacious and private. Seats 180 banquet-style, and 300 for a reception.

Mountain View Pavillion Tent – A beautiful outdoor tent for larger receptions and those who want more of an outside experience. Located near carriage rides and a stream. Has own parking lot. Seats 200 banquet-style, and 400 for a reception.

It started off as a great example of Federal architecture, with details like a richly detailed entrance topped by a pediment supported on pilasters, and a dentilated cornice. The front door opened to an unobstructed view of the Potomac River when the house was built, and boasted an original parterre garden designed by Pierre L’Enfant.

But around 1900, Halcyon House took a turn in a different direction, literally. It was purchased by Albert Clemens, a nephew of Mark Twain, who put an enormous addition onto the house in the Georgian style, more than doubling its size, and also added wings of apartments on both sides. The new façade, tacked onto the back of the original house, faced away from the river and onto Prospect Street.

Situated on the waterfront in the vibrant neighborhood of Dumbo, Smack Mellon offers a truly unique venue for private parties and corporate events. The building is across the street from the picturesque Brooklyn Bridge Park between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges with breathtaking views of the City skyline.

Consider the Dramatic Architecture:
Located in the recently renovated “Boiler Building”, Smack Mellon’s gallery is an especially exciting space with tremendous architectural elements. The 6,000 square foot gallery boasts a ceiling that soars to 35 feet. There are 25 windows on two levels providing beautiful light and a spectacular view of Manhattan and the East River.

Current legal capacity is 74 people, including all event staff.  In 2012, the legal capacity may be 250 people standing (150 seated).  More confirmed details will be available by December 2011. Currently we are only renting for 74 person private parties.

Visible from a half-mile away, the two-story Victorian is a commanding presence amid the rolling pastures of Chileno Valley. Until Sally and Michael Gale went to work on it four years ago, the 1883 Romantic Italianate house was more eyesore than eye-opener in the rural valley running just south of the Marin County line. Inside, rebuilt fir and redwood floors and stairway balustrades shine, and gleaming antique light fixtures hand from the restored medallions. Most visitors wouldn’t notice, even after Sally Gale pointed it out, that the stairway posts are two-thirds the original piece joined to an extension to meet modern code requirements. Planning a family Reunion ? The Midnight Ranch is The Place!

Nestled at the foot of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains in the picturesque City of Sierra Madre, the Villa was built in the “pure” Italian Renaissance Style in 1922 by the famous Pasadena architect Wallace Neff and was completed by 1928.

The estate was built by Dr. Jarvis Barlow for his wife, who had visited the Villa Collazzi and wanted a house just like it. This design was a radical departure from the Mediterranean style that that Neff perfected in his other homes. He used entrance rotunda and iron work in several of his later homes.

Originally built on thirteen acres of trees and flowers overlooking the entire San Gabriel Valley, the Villa had five master bedrooms, four bathrooms, and ample help quarters, one of the first electric elevators in the area, porches on three sides, and spacious patios. On the grounds were garages, stables, caretaker’s home, swimming pool, bath house, and tennis courts.

The building is comprised of two stories and a tower. It is said that the walls are made of two rows of hollow tile to keep the building cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The lower story houses the reception rooms, dining room, drawing room, and library. The upper floor includes the living quarters and a spacious ballroom. The tower was built to obtain a better view of the valley.

Dr. Barlow himself supervised the planting of the trees which included: orchids, tulip, Japanese Magnolia, strawberry tree, flaming eucalyptus, monkey tree, camphor, sapoitas, English Yew, coral, and carob. To frame the southern façade, a sunken garden was added, lined on either side by Italian cypress.

The Villa is now part of Alverno High School, a private Catholic girl’s school, which has been educating young women since 1960.

Rancho de los Kiotes, a designated National Historic Site, was once a vacation retreat and working rancho belonging to actor Leo Carrillo. Carrillo hosted many famous fiestas for Hollywood notables at his rancho. The park was opened to the public in August 2003. The City of Carlsbad has recently completed Phase II of the park’s restoration project; which included a spacious new parking area, paved and natural pathways, modern restrooms, and many other visitor improvements.

Rental areas of the park include the reflecting pool and cabaña area, as well as the hacienda patio, or a combination of both which includes the use of the hacienda courtyard and the Bride’s room. We can accommodate groups ranging in size from 10–150 guests.

Most couples exchange vows in our lovely courtyard. Our charming tasting room is popular for the receiving/ reception. You then enter our romantic Cuvee Cave through the barrel-aging hallway. Perfect for dining, the Cuvee Cave features a built-in, wood burning fireplace and nine, two-tiered chandeliers that bathe the atmosphere in an amber glow. The Cuvee Cave seats 72 comfortably in its interior.  A canopy or market umbrellas can be used to extend tables into the exterior areas to accommodate up to 120 guests. Due to weather conditions during certain months, we require the canopy installation off the end of the cave.

Sodo Park’s ambient charm is neutral enough to be dressed up or down for any event. In addition to our extensive house equipment included with your venue rental, we are also available to coordinate specialty equipment and a variety of enhancements for your event. Our staff is constantly focused on the details so you can feel like a guest at your own event!

The ranch has been family owned and operated since 1929. Our House Pasture is built on the crossroads of three Texas Counties — where Burnet, Blanco, and Llano Counties meet.

Three Points Pavilion

The House Pasture is centered by the Three Points Pavilion, a stunning open-air event space inspired by East African architecture. The Pavilion provides the perfect backdrop for that once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Includes approximately 2,100 sq./ft. of covered space, 1,500 sq./ft. of dining/ceremony/dancing space (space for up to 85 seated diners, 150 people in reception row seating, or 180 dancing), a 10 ft. service bar, a central fireplace, and a restroom.

Dining Barn

Whether the occasion calls for cocktails and hors d’œuvre, buffet dining, or a four-course chef’s meal, the professional kitchen and bar facilities of the Dining Barn make it the ideal staging area for the highest level of service. Includes approximately 1,400 sq./ft. of climate controlled or open-air covered space, a full cook’s kitchen, 15 ft. bar/serving buffet, 850 sq./ft. of dining/ceremony/dancing space (seating up to 70 for diners, 130 people in reception row seating, or 180 dancing), and a restroom.

Airstream Camp

A fleet of five vintage Airstream trailers round out the covered space available in the house pasture. Each climate controlled and uniquely outfitted, the Airstreams offer cozy retreats for your guests to relax in international style. In advance of weddings and ceremonies, the Airstreams become hair and makeup stations for the bride and groom. During parties and dinners, they become private enclaves for small groups to gather.

Ceremony Site at Buck Knoll

For those guests who wish to convene their ceremony outdoors against the backdrop of the lush Texas Hill Country, Buck Knoll is perfectly situated on the highest hills of Three Points Ranch, convenient to the ranch entrance and parking area. The site can accomodate up to 250 people with a mixture of seated and standing guests. We’ve recently landscaped the Ceremony Site, blending amphitheater-style terracing and a central stairway aisle into the natural hillside of Buck Knoll.

The hotel’s chapel, Puerta del Cielo, is an intimate, on-site wedding ceremony and reception venue for unforgettable weddings of up to 100 guests. With a name that translates to “Door to the Heavens”, Puerta del Cielo offers a birds-eye view of the famed ’crown’ spire of the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe cathedral, as well as sweeping vistas that stretch from the verdant Sierra Madre Mountain range to the azure waters of Banderas Bay.

All wedding and event details are completely customizable according to a couple’s preferences including ceremony, photography, accommodations and many other details. Catering is handled in-house, overseen by the Hacienda’s acclaimed chefs. Event menus may run from hors d’oeuvres-only to up to six courses, fashioned for both casual cocktail-style receptions and more elaborate, formal seated dinners. Bar options include signature cocktails selected by the couple, as well as course-by-course wine pairings and an extensive array of other premium libations. The Beehive is the perfect venue for holiday parties, business functions, social gatherings and weddings. Our unique space works well for “come as you are” gatherings or special occasions calling for a more upscale atmosphere.

You can choose from our dining room or events menu, or a menu customized especially for your guests. Our great food, along with a dynamic and approachable wine & beverage program, accommodating staff, and the stage for live entertainment, can make a celebration at The Beehive a superbly memorable experience.

This very private 1400 square foot house has two matching master suites with glass walls and private atriums planted with ocotillos. Each suite has a large shower that is open to the atrium, a teak bench, and a floating mirrored vanity.  The main room is glass walled on three sides with a full kitchen, and a large dining table. A seating area has a sofa, chairs and a stereo cabinet with an I-pod doc that drives a built-in 400watt 7 speaker stereo system throughout the house. The mosaic tiled reflecting pool and huge spa are basically in the living room, and the sunken back patio has built in seating, a fire pit, and a barbeque. Ornate wrought iron gates with thousands of metallic gold roses slide into pockets and disappear to open the living room from the front desert plains through to the back patio and rocky hillside. The house can be opened entirely to catch desert breezes but there is also an oversized heating and cooling system for those few days when you need them.

It is a rather large property, stone-built, boasting 11000m2 of south facing garden and a pool terrace, around an unusally shaped infinity pool measuring 10mx5m, with a ‘californian’ or submerged beach, excellent for young children or the elderly. The house has been designed with big family groups in mind, and is ideal for 2 or even 3 families holidaying together.

There are 5 double beds, 5 single beds, and a cot. One bathroom with a bath, 4 shower rooms and 6 wc’s. Beautifully decorated throughout, with a lovely stone amphitheatre around the pool an outside pool bar, the pool house and an outside shower, plenty of sunloungers and garden furniture this house is ideal for relaxing and exploring Provence.

Taber Ranch is located on a 500-acre ranch in the scenic Capay Valley and is available from April through October for 60 – 300 guests.  We host a variety of events including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations and corporate events such as retirements, corporate retreats, meetings, and company parties.

Taber Ranch is truly a unique & secluded country setting.  The site is surrounded by hillsides of lavender, vineyards, olive & almond trees providing a spectacular background for your wedding or special event.  Our hilltop plateau has a panoramic view of the valley.  The lawn area overlooks a pond filled with colorful Koi and our 70-year old rustic, but elegant barn is bordered by a babbling brook.  Your guests are welcome to wander through our whimsical 2½-acre garden and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.  Our shuttles include 2 vintage red Cadillac convertibles to transport your guests in style.

Owned by husband and wife team Atlanta Bartlett and Dave Coote who have both successfully worked in the magazine, photography and design industries for the last 20 years producing books, interiors, furniture, products, sets, magazines features and cabins, both together and individually, that have been highly sought after by those “in the know”. Their combined client list ranges from Laura Ashley, John Lewis and Habitat to Elle Deco, Living etc and Red magazine and they now run their own online boutique homeware store Pale & Interesting.

Often used as a a photographic location this elegant wedding venue has graced the pages of magazines and catalogues from House & Garden, Living etc and Homes & Gardens to The White Company and Cath Kidston. It has been designed and decorated with all the style and flair that they are so famous for, making it the perfect backdrop for your special day.

The venue has got a full license for holding weddings, civil ceremonies and christenings for up to 70 people and a wild meadow on which to put your marquee. Full wedding styling service also available.

Film/commercial/photo shoots, dance/theater performances, art exhibits, concerts, birthday parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, product launches, film screenings, fundraisers,…and more!

Capacity

For cocktail parties or standing events, we can accommodate up to 400 guests.  For wedding receptions or special events, we can accommodate up to 250.  For a ceremony transitioned to a reception, we can comfortably seat up to 160 with room for dancing.

History of the Building

The Green Building was built in 1889 and was used primarily as a brass foundry until 1987.  Interesting fact: much of the brass manufactured here was used on the gambling tables in the casinos in Atlantic City!  The building was acquired and renovated in late 2008 by Akiva Reich & Co.

Main Room

Rustic modern, industrial chic…whatever you call it, the Green Building’s main room is gorgeous.  Featuring original brick walls, soaring exposed beam ceilings, four beautiful chandeliers and a roll-up gate that can be kept open on warm nights.

Speakeasy

A hidden door located within the coat check leads to two beautifully-appointed, 1920s-inspired private rooms which can be used as a talent holding area, bridal dressing room or your very own VIP bar.

Courtyard and Caretakers’ Garden
Enjoy the delightful outdoor setting of our courtyard ornamented by gardens and fountains for your next special event. This space can house a 20 x 40 tent, 100 guests for buffet style dining and up to 150 guests for a seated dinner.

The Tabby Garden
Our newest enchanting space offers garden and tented capacity for groups as large as 250 guests for a seated event. Dance under the stars while enjoying the finest in Lowcountry cuisine.

The Magnolia Room
The mahogany wood paneled Magnolia Room includes a bar, fireplace, windows that face the garden walkways and porch access. Perfect for groups as large as 25 guests or when combined with The Library, can seat 40 people for a reception or dinner with a distinctive flair.

The Library
The mahogany wood paneled private Library features a fireplace and serves as an intimate setting for seated dining for up to 15 quests. Located just across the hall from the Terrace Room, the rooms combine to offer an exquisite reception and dining opportunity.

Conference Room
The Conference Room features a board meeting table, wet bar and fireplace to provide the perfect space for up to 8 guests.

The Mill At Lebanon features 8 different event spaces covering over 50,000 square feet of space. We can provide the right space to make your Special Event a comfortable and enjoyable experience for you and your guests.

THE FULL FACILITY
Garden Café, Café Lodge and Café Terrace  can accommodate up to 150 for a seated dinner and 200 for a standing reception.

EVENT TIMING
Events at terrain at Styer’s can be held beginning at 5:00 p.m.  We are not able to host private events during daytime hours while the café is open for business.

MENUS
Our chef and catering staff enjoys working with each client to create a custom menu reflective of their style, taste and budget.  Enclosed are sample menus reflective of our talented staff’s offerings.  Please consider these a jumping off point for creating a menu that is perfectly designed for you. Pricing is based on a per person basis and an estimate will be provided upon meeting with our chef and catering manager.

BEVERAGES
Styer’s Garden Café is BYOB. For that reason, we are pleased to offer our clients the opportunity to bring in their own alcohol at no additional charge. Our event staff can assist in facilitating the delivery of beverages directly to our site, and will coordinate set-up of the bar and hiring of bartender staff.

STAFFING
A staffing estimate will be provided upon discussion of menus with the chef and restaurant manager.

DESIGN SERVICES
Terrain at Styer’s is proud to offer the services of talented Design Services for your special event. Pricing for these optional services is available upon request.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
To secure your date, a signed contract and deposit are required. Your initial deposit is the full site
fee. Terrain must receive full payment (total projected cost agreed upon less the deposit) 24 hours
prior to event.

Our open air barn can be dressed up or down, depending on your taste. Barn rental includes tables, chairs, indoor restrooms for your guests and other amenities. When you arrive to set up, the facility will be ready for your use. Tables and chairs are cleaned and stacked, and you arrange your area how you would like.

We will be happy to provide an outdoor or indoor area for your ceremony. Bonfire and tractor-drawn haryides are available with advance notice.

Our first year of operation taught us well; we use the lessons we learned to weave together traditions, old and new, into a year’s worth of events. We dug deep into the local repertoire to unearth culinary talent to bring you special dinners, weekends, and classes.  During the warmer months, we move outdoors with celebrations and musical performances. And once again, holidays will bond together family and friends, and create lasting memories. Discover a new year at the Ocean House and experience our events; each one will be an affair to remember.

We can accommodate up to 350 guests in our exclusive outdoor event site (June — Oct)
or inside up to 50 guests (Oct — May).

Throwing an even more intimate party? Our library comfortably fits 25 guests—when your living room doesn’t. The space rental fee is $60 per hour, with a 2-hour minimum, and we’ll provide all the same catering and service amenities. You may never host an event at home again.

The heart of the Annadel property is the stone winery ruins hand-hewn in 1886 and today, elegantly trellised with vines, roses, and other flowers. The courtyard of the Annadel ruins is a lush and romantic setting for your ceremony or the perfect place to dine and dance the night away. With thick stone walls over 12 feet high, the moon, the stars and the sky is yours.

Surrounding the winery ruins are beautifully manicured lawns that stretch down to acres of heirloom garden roses that gently scent the air. Your guests are invited to wander the lawns or adjacent carriage drive and courtyard bordered with majestic California heritage oaks several hundred years old.

Annadel also offers a beautifully preserved barn naturally distressed by decades of Sonoma weather. Situated behind the ruins, the barn is fronted by a striking heritage Oak tree and framed with creeping, red roses. An ideal location for your rehearsal dinner or reception, the Barn provides warmth and intimacy — and an alternative venue should inclement weather arise.

We are pleased to also provide the lovely, clapboard Bridal Cottage as part of your rental booking. As we promise to never book more than one event per evening on our property, the Cottage is yours for the event and can be used for pre-ceremony preparations, a quiet resting place for elderly relatives and, with supervision, the perfect younger guest sitting facility.

The outer Exhibit Room, used most often as a setting for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before dinner, offers your guests a warm welcome amid cases that display manuscripts and illustrated texts from the library’s collections. As a setting for the main event, whether a dinner, wedding, press reception, retirement party, fundraising dance or celebration of your company’s most recent success, the soaring stack room is incomparable. Your guests will be surrounded by six tiers of stately cast-iron columns, decorative railings, and classical embellishments touched with gold-leaf in this room that rises 61 feet from its black-and-white marble floor to the massive skylight that caps the central interior. A space of exquisite symmetry in the neo-Grec style, the stack room lends an atmosphere of history and accomplishment to every event. Warmly lit, the space is so perfectly proportioned that, although the room is monumental, the feeling is intimate.

Right in the heart of Little Rock, a countryside retreat is ready to take your breath away.  The Dr. Morgan Smith Estate sits on 31 acres of secluded countryside that includes a private three acre lake, rolling lawns, hundred year old oak trees, magnolia trees, fountains, ducks, geese and the most modern conveniences. The Dr. Morgan Smith estate was built in 1918, and is a National Landmark of Historic Places. Two age-old Magnolia trees sit atop the hill that Dr. Smith planted. The estate has grown to be called Magnolia Hill.  At the turn of the century, it was a day’s buggy ride to downtown Little Rock. Today, the warmth of this historic home is a most convenient place for your wedding and reception. Magnolia Hill has been returned to its turn of the century charm by its current owners, Alda and Buddy Ellis.

Only steps from the treehouse, our idyllic lake provides a peaceful retreat from alarm clocks, TV news, and traffic. Soak in the sun and the scenery as you escape the pressures of day-to-day life. The sounds you hear are the singing of the birds and the croaking of the bullfrogs.

The expansive lawn area beside the lake can be set up to accommodate an al fresco business meeting, a family reunion, or a company picnic and is perfect for lawn games such as badminton, bocce ball, or croquet. You can’t help but feel the peace and tranquility that pervades this beautiful setting. You might even catch a glimpse of the resident great blue heron.

The maximum capacity of the space may vary from below due to seating requirements, dance floor size, catering needs and audio/visual needs. The 12,000 square foot event space can comfortably accommodate the following number of guests:

For the ceremony, the Teatro, is an outdoor theater with a marble ceremonial stage nestled under centuries-old oaks and sycamores trees. This lovely area can also be used for an outdoor reception seating up to 400 guests. The intimate garden lighting can transform the Teatro into a romantic evening paradise

The Grand Salon is the perfect place for an indoor reception. This elegant indoor/outdoor area has stained glass windows, countless French doors that open onto spacious patios and a dramatic dancing stone fountain. Seating inside the Salon varies depending on the requirement, but easily accommodates most large parties.

Casa Linda, is a quaint cottage graced with sitting and dressing areas, a natural stone fireplace and private patio. The bridal party often uses this charming room during weddings as a dressing area.

Located behind the Teatro ceremonial area is a private room with a comfortable loft where the groom often uses for changing.

Lyndoch on the lake has private park like grounds and classic gardens, all overlooking the magnificent 75 acre lake.

The beautiful buildings as a backdrop are a photographer’s dream, everywhere you look is a visual treat.

Ceremony’s can be held with your choice of location within the gardens, by the lake, or around the provincial styled buildings.

Reception is generally held within a magnificent chandelier lit marquee set within the stunning grounds overlooking the water.

The Icehouse has many options for rental to suit your needs.  Choose from any of the rooms or rent the entire Icehouse.  Rates vary depending on event size and duration.

Luxurious vintage fabrics and opulent furnishings fill the spacious second floor of the Bowery Hotel, complete with a private entrance, an expansive outdoor terrace and an over sized green tiled fireplace.  The versatile, flexible event space consists of 10,000 square feet and easily accommodates up to 600 guests.

Artful and seductive the exposed brick walls, threadbare rugs, and iron chandeliers beckon an outdoor wedding reception, rehearsal dinner or social event.  This sophisticated and stylish venue provides a level of modern luxury for events such as film premieres, fashion shows, corporate events and photo shoots.  The Bowery Hotel’s event space has also showcased several successful album release parties, benefits, product release parties and charity events.

Room 1520 event venues are located in the heart of the artistic West Loop area of Chicago.

Villa Woodbine was built for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyd of Appleton, Wisconsin as their winter residence. As owner of the Appleton Paper Company, Mr. Boyd perfected the process to commercially manufacture carbonless paper, known today as NCR paper. The Boyd’s chose the name Villa Woodbine

During the 1930’s, the area along Silver Bluff, where Villa Woodbine was erected, was known as “Millionaire’s Row”. Next door is the Woolworth home, which Mr. Boyd’s heirs ultimately purchased to extend their land holdings. Two parcels of property adjacent to Tigertail Avenue, to the rear of the property, have been sold.

Cuban design influenced the interior design of the property. The Cuban tile in the dining room is a rare example of this craft. The beautifully polished tiles on the loggias bring memories of another era. The colorful tiles uniquely set into the stairway risers were purchased by Mrs. Boyd in Europe. She had much of the furniture hand-crafted by Cuban craftsmen. Some of these pieces still remain today, some eighty years later.

Upon Mr. Boyd’s passing in 1948, his daughter Martha, and son-in law William Siekman inherited the estate. They continued to use the home as their winter residence until the late 1950’s when schooling responsibilities for their children made it impossible to spend their winters away and they thus began leasing the property to others.

Can you imagine their surprise in 1961 while flipping through Life magazine in their northern mansion in Appleton to see a picture of their Villa in Miami depicted (correctly) as the home in which the Bay of Pigs invasion was planned?

A host of colorful, if not a bit eccentric lessees have occupied the residence since then — from an architect who filled the courtyard with parrots, to dreamers like treasure hunter Mel Fisher. Guests have included the Village People, Mary Wilson of Supremes fame and Pavarotti. The walls are silent to the happenings in those days.

The auditorium was once the center of culture and entertainment in the community, hosting such famous speakers as William Jenning Bryan, Rev. Sam Jones, Billy Sunday, and Carry Nation. The building features a bowled floor with seating for 5,000, a 36-foot by 36-foot stage area with 2,000 square feet of floor space, and an orchestra pit that once held 20 musicians and their instruments. Grecian statues representing art, music, and drama sit above the stage. The design of the round structure is so unique, it is the largest building of its kind anywhere in the world.
